In the hills of Los Angeles, overlooking the sea, you will find the Central Garden designed by Robert Irwin, who felt his task was to make a contemporary “sculpture in the form of a garden aspiring to be art.”
A walkway crosses over a stream and winds through a variety of plants, gradually descending to a plaza, where bougainvillea climbs through umbrella-like trellises. The stream cascades over a stone waterfall into a pool containing a maze of azaleas.
